Americans for Prosperity Applauds Educational Opportunity Momentum

Mar 11, 2021 by AFP

AUSTIN, TX—Americans for Prosperity-Texas (AFP-TX) today announced its support for Senate Bill 28 and House Bill 3279 following their introduction in the legislature. These proposals will allow more students in Texas to receive an education that meets their unique needs by ensuring local governments do not unfairly implement red tape to limit the operation of charter schools.

AFP-TX State Director Genevieve Collins issued the following statement:

“All students in Texas deserve an education that builds the foundation for a bright future, but a one-size-fits-all approach leaves many behind. We’re excited to see bipartisan support for these reforms hoping to meet the needs of more students by encouraging educational opportunity.  Our activists thank Senator Bettencourt and Chairman Dutton for their leadership and for prioritizing Texas students, families, and educators.”

Background:

AFP-Texas and its dedicated grassroots activists have prioritized reforms for educational opportunity for all students this legislative session and for years prior. This year’s policy focus are outlined in the organization’s legislative agenda: Texas Sized Reforms to supporting educational opportunity for all students this session.
