Grassroots group urges House to act swiftly on proposal

Lansing, MI – Americans for Prosperity-Michigan (AFP-MI) today thanked leaders in the State Senate for passing a bold tax cut plan that would allow Michigan families, mom and pop businesses, and job creators across the state to keep more of their own money. Annie Patnaude, state director for the grassroots group, issued the following statement:

“The billion-dollar tax cut passed by the State Senate today would provide much-needed relief for those who are struggling to make ends meet amidst historic inflation. We urge the State House to take up this bold reform that would allow people to keep more of their own money.

“Governor Whitmer’s budget failed to provide lasting tax cuts that would make our state more competitive and honor the principle that tax revenue belongs not to government but to the people of Michigan. We appreciate the bold vision and leadership of the Senate to advance a tax cut that would boost Michigan families, small businesses, and job creators across our state.”
