AFP-SC Commends Legislature, Governor McMaster for Enacting Business License Tax Reform

Charleston, SC – Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) today commended Governor McMaster for signing H. 4431, a bill that would standardize how businesses pay business license taxes and establish a portal where all businesses can register and pay their taxes.

AFP-SC advocated for the bill earlier this year and mobilized its activists to contact their lawmakers in support of the bill.

Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina State Director Andrew Yates issued the following statement:

“With businesses still reeling from the economic effects of COVID-19, reforming our tax code to simplify and standardize business licenses is a great step in helping our businesses recover. We commend the state legislature and Governor McMaster for signing this bill that eliminates compliance nightmares and will help unleash growth and prosperity in our state.”
