AFP-PA Applauds Committee Vote on Dignity for Incarcerated Women

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania—Americans for Prosperity Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) today praised the Judiciary Committee for passing the Dignity of Incarcerated Women Act this week.

The bill now goes to the House Floor for a vote.

AFP-PA State Director Ashley Klingensmith made the following statement after the ground-breaking committee vote:

“We are thankful to Committee Chair Rob Kauffman, prime sponsors Reps. Mike Jones, Lori Mizgorski, Morgan Cephas, and Tina Davis and the other committee members who showed today that they understand that every Pennsylvanian—including those in state custody—is deserving of dignity and respect.

“This is the first time this critical bill has made it successfully through the committee process, and we are proud to be running awareness and accountability campaigns to support these necessary reforms to our criminal justice system.”
