AFP on Drug Pricing Deal

Nov 3, 2021 by AFP

Though not as far-reaching as H.R. 3, the reported plan would still reduce patient access to life-saving medications

Arlington, Va. – Today, Americans for Prosperity Senior Health Policy Fellow Dean Clancy issued the following statement on reports that congressional Democrats have reached a deal to impose price controls on some prescription drugs:

“No matter what the scale, price controls will leave patients with less hope of being able to access breakthrough treatments that could save their lives. Make no mistake, lawmakers who go along with this drug rationing scheme to enable more reckless government spending will be reminded of their vote for fewer new cures. Though this scaled-back plan isn’t as catastrophic as H.R. 3, it’s still a bad deal for Americans.”
