AFP-MS Statement On Nissan Workers Not Unionizing

Aug 4, 2017 by AFP

Canton, MS – Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi applauds the decision by Nissan workers to reject the United Auto Workers (UAW) in Mississippi.

AFP-Mississippi very vocally opposed the unionization of the Nissan assembly plant in Canton, sending mailers to Canton-area residents, placing radio advertisements, digital display and video advertisements and buying billboard space. State Director Russ Latino, who penned an op-ed urging rejection of UAW in USA Today, issued the following statement on the election results:

“Today, Nissan workers in Canton made the right choice, telling the UAW and its agitators to hit the road.  The UAW has a poor track record of broken promises and scandal.” Latino continued: “By opposing unionization, Nissan workers in Canton have ensured greater worker freedom, while protecting themselves and our community from UAW’s unsavory baggage.”
