AFP Launches Video Series Focused on Lessons from the Pandemic

Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today released a six-part video series focused on the most significant health care reforms America must undertake in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The videos are part of a long-term digital advertising campaign that informs Americans about the lessons learned from the pandemic and the policy reforms that will leave us better prepared for the next crisis. The six-part series includes two-minute videos that are designed to educate viewers about the need for reforms across a wide range of health care issues, including:

Testing Kits
FDA Reforms
Medical Licensing
Rules and Regulations
Telehealth
Scope of Practice

AFP Policy Manager David Barnes issued the following on the release of the videos:

“America’s health care system – your health care system – is undermined by too much bureaucracy and red tape that prevent doctors, nurses, and medical researchers from helping people. We all saw that from the start. Faulty tests. Too few beds and ventilators. Delays in supplying protective gear. Not enough doctors and nurses in hardest hit areas. Each of these problems was the result of some misguided policy that until now went mostly unnoticed. That’s why Americans for Prosperity put together this video series. It’s important for Americans to understand where the mistakes were made so they can be effective advocates for change. We want to ensure that America is better prepared for the next crisis and that starts with a groundswell of Americans demanding meaningful reforms to our health care system.”

The video series is just the latest effort in AFP’s “Health Care Reimagined” campaign focused on enacting meaningful health care reforms that leave America better prepared to handle the next crisis.
