AFP Commends Gov. Burgum for Leadership in Removing Barriers to Better Health Care

Mar 25, 2020 by AFP

BISMARCK, ND—Americans for Prosperity-North Dakota (AFP-ND) today commends Governor Doug Burgum and the Department of Health for their decisive leadership in addressing the legitimate public safety and economic challenges North Dakotans may face at the hands of COVID-19. AFP-ND recently released a letter addressed to Gov. Burgum outlining its support.

Gov. Burgum’s recent efforts included removing barriers to out-of-state health providers treating patients in North Dakota, expanding access to telehealth treatment options that could limit the spread of the virus during an in-person doctors’ visit, and encouraging citizens to limit their public interaction with others.

AFP-ND today launched an effort for North Dakotans to thank Gov. Burgum for his timely response to the novel coronavirus on digital platforms.

AFP-ND State Director Mike Fedorchak issued the following statement:

“We applaud Governor Burgum for his decisive leadership to curtail the spread of COVID-19 and efforts to ensure high-risk North Dakotans have access to the care they need as our state faces uncertainty. Gov. Burgum’s efforts remove barriers to care by expanding access to providers through telehealth technologies and allowing licensed out-of-state health care professionals to treat North Dakota patients. AFP appreciates the leadership seen during this unprecedented time.”
