Phoenix, AZ — Americans for Prosperity-Arizona (AFP-AZ) today issued the third wave of endorsements for candidates running to serve in the Arizona state legislature.
Adding to a strong slate of candidates, AFP-AZ today endorsed Matt Gress in his bid for LD-04 and State Senator T.J. Shope, who’s running for re-election in LD-16.
AFP-AZ State Director Stephen Shadegg issued the following statement after the announcement:
“AFP-AZ uses our endorsements to support proven policy champions, like Sen. T.J. Shope, and the future leaders, like Matt Gress. As Arizona faces skyrocketing prices and record inflation, it’s critical to elect pro-growth, fiscally responsible candidates to our legislature.
“Both individuals have earned the endorsement of AFP-AZ through a rigorous vetting process. AFP-AZ will leverage a wide range of tactics, including the country’s largest grassroots outreach and mobilization, a full-time dedicated staff, and trained volunteers to educate and mobilize voters to support their campaigns.”
Matt Gress (LD-04)
Matt Gress’ knowledge and experience in advocating for fiscally responsible budgets positions him to become a policy partner and leader in the legislature. As a former school board member and teacher, Gress deeply understands the issues facing Arizona’s schools and has vowed to be an active and engaged voice in support of educational opportunity.
State Sen. T.J. Shope (LD-16)
Sen. Shope has been a reliable partner on education and tax issues and has fought for tax reform in the Senate. As Vice Chair of the Education Committee, he has partnered with AFP-AZ and other aligned organizations to drive policy reforms and expand educational opportunities.
