AFP Applauds House for Advancing the NDO Fairness Act

Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today applauded the House of Representatives for unanimously passing the NDO Fairness Act (H.R. 7072). This vital reform reemphasizes the value this country places on our founding principles enshrined in the Fourth Amendment.

“Federal agencies have abused the power granted to them by Congress through ordering private companies to provide the personal communications of many thousands of Americans each year under gag orders. This lack of transparency and notice allows agencies to run roughshod over our Fourth Amendment rights without any accountability. The NDO Fairness Act is an important first step toward establishing a proper balance between preventing government overreach and ensuring our hard-working law enforcement officials can properly investigate wrongdoing.”
