Americans for Prosperity and The LIBRE Initiative Announce Support for The Primary Care Enhancement Act

Arlington, Va. – Today, Americans for Prosperity and The LIBRE Initiative announced their support for The Primary Care Enhancement Act. The legislation increases access to affordable preventative and primary care by allowing health savings accounts to be used to pay for direct patient care. This enables patients to rely less on specialists and hospital referrals. 

“We applaud Senators Cassidy, Shaheen, Scott, and Kelly for sponsoring this outstanding legislation to give Americans a personal option in health care,” said Dean Clancy, senior health policy fellow at Americans for Prosperity. “The Primary Care Enhancement Act would enable Americans to use tax-free health savings accounts to directly access high-quality, affordable care using a subscription-based model. This would loosen the grip of insurance middlemen, removing a critical barrier between patients and the medical professionals they trust and moving us a giant step closer to a more equitable health care system that puts patients ahead of insurance companies.”
