David Herbst is the State Director for the Montana chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the state’s largest free-market grassroots advocacy group.

An innovative leader, David has spent his career organizing grassroots activists to promote economic freedom in Montana. Most recently, Herbst worked to develop the sophisticated field programs to deliver U.S. Senator Steve Daines and Congressman Ryan Zinke their historic wins.

In 2013, David worked as a legislative assistant for then-Congressman Stave Daines and, prior to that, worked on Daines’ congressional campaign where he built a robust grassroots field program bringing new technology and field operations to the campaign.

A 5th Generation Montanan whose family hails from Broadwater County and a graduate from Montana State University, David understands the Montana experience and is proud to call Montana home.  David, his wife and one year old son live in Belgrade, Montana.
