HELENA, MT — Americans for Prosperity-Montana (AFP-MT) today announced its endorsement of five candidates in the 2026 general election, its first state-level endorsements for the general election. AFP will deploy an aggressive campaign to help elect candidates who can advance its policy agenda for 2027:
- Education reform
- Free speech
- Property tax reform
- Housing reform
- Flat income tax
AFP-MT State Director Jesse Ramos issued the following statement:
“Montana doesn’t need more lawmakers who campaign as limited-government conservatives. It needs lawmakers who govern like them. These candidates are committed to delivering for Montanans, and they understand that reducing the cost of living for everyone begins with getting government out of the way.”
“We also need legislators who will support education freedom, control spending, reform property taxes, cut regulatory barriers, and unleash the energy resources that can lower costs and create opportunities across our state. These candidates can help move Montana in that direction.”
AFP-MT’s general election endorsements include:
- Jessica Dyrdahl (SD 10)
- Jason Gunderson (SD 29)
- Steve LaPraim (SD 42)
- Bob Crank (HD 57)
- Derek Peachey (HD 3)
These candidates are highly aligned with AFP-MT’s 2027 policy priorities and help bring Montana closer to a policy majority in both chambers. Each candidate is running in a competitive race and has demonstrated a commitment to lowering the cost of living, expanding education freedom, reforming property taxes, reducing unnecessary regulations, unleashing Montana’s vast energy resources, and supporting a flatter, simpler tax code for all Montanans.
AFP-MT will support these candidates through grassroots engagement, voter education, and digital and direct mail through the November general election.
