FLAT ROCK, MI – On Wednesday, Americans for Prosperity–Michigan (AFP-MI) hosted a conversation in Flat Rock featuring former Congressman Mike Rogers, State Representative Jamie Thompson (MI-28), and AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding to discuss how Michigan can reclaim its position as a national leader in manufacturing, starting in the Downriver region. During the discussion, speakers highlighted the importance of pro-growth policies, reducing barriers to investment, and empowering local communities to drive economic revitalization across the state.
AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding released the following statement:
“Michigan has a proud manufacturing legacy, and leaders like Mike Rogers understand what it takes to regain that capacity, especially in communities like Downriver that have long powered our state’s economy. By focusing on policies that encourage innovation, support job creators, and remove unnecessary regulatory burdens, we can ensure Michigan remains a place where businesses invest, workers succeed, and families build lasting prosperity.
“Our conversation made clear that restoring Michigan’s manufacturing dominance will require action at every level of government. Lawmakers must prioritize solutions that expand opportunity, attract new investment, and reinforce Michigan’s reputation as a national leader in manufacturing and economic growth.”
