ATLANTA, GA – Americans for Prosperity–Georgia (AFP-GA) today launched a new digital campaign to hold Senator Jon Ossoff accountable for refusing to vote in favor of legislation that would reopen the government and fully fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
AFP-GA State Director Tony West added the following statement:
“Georgia families expect their leaders in Washington to have their best interests in mind. As TSA officers begin receiving their first $0 paycheck today and with this shutdown nearing a month, the consequences of Washington’s dysfunction are becoming impossible to ignore.
“Instead, Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are refusing to support legislation that would end the shutdown and fund the Department of Homeland Security, putting politics over the safety and well-being of the American people. AFP will continue holding them accountable for that failure.”
AFP is calling for an immediate end to the ongoing partial government shutdown amid rising security concerns across the United States and abroad, warning that continued dysfunction in Washington could prove catastrophic at a time when American families, businesses, and communities are relying on their government to keep them safe.
