COLUMBIA, SC – Americans for Prosperity–South Carolina (AFP-SC) praised the South Carolina Republican Party for adopting a resolution expressing support for H. 3021, the Small Business Regulatory Freedom Act. This resolution reinforces the party’s commitment to greater legislative oversight and accountability in government rulemaking.

After passing the South Carolina House in 2025, H. 3021 is currently up for consideration in the Senate. Emphatic steps like this resolution bring our state closer to real and lasting regulatory reform.

AFP-SC State Director Matt Humm released the following statement:

“By adopting a resolution in support of the Small Business Regulatory Freedom Act, the South Carolina Republican Party is standing up for the principle that unelected bureaucrats should not be allowed to impose costly regulations without the consent of the people’s elected representatives.

“As this REINS Act moves through the Senate, the Republican Party’s resolution sends a clear message: South Carolinians demand bold regulatory reform that restores accountability, constitutional balance, and transparency to the regulatory process. We applaud the party’s leadership and urge lawmakers to finish the job by passing the Small Business Regulatory Freedom Act.”
