Pierre, SD — Americans for Prosperity–South Dakota (AFP–SD) responded to Governor Larry Rhoden’s State of the State Address on Tuesday while also announcing its own policy plans for 2026.
As the governor delivered his remarks, AFP-SD rolled out its priorities for the 2026 legislative session. Those priorities – detailed in AFP-SD’s Rushmore Roadmap plan – represent the organization’s ongoing mission to advance opportunities for all South Dakotans by pushing for grounded, common-sense solutions to the state’s issues.
AFP-SD State Director Jennifer Beving said:
“South Dakotans heard a comprehensive address from the governor on how he plans to resolve the state’s challenges this year from property taxes to budgetary issues. Through it all, our singular goal remains the same; doing everything we can to improve the lives of ordinary South Dakotans.
“Thanks to Governor Rhoden for his leadership. We’re ready to work with policy champions and lawmakers to advance our Rushmore Roadmap ideals – small government, free markets, education freedom, rural healthcare accountability and transparency, and giving the people a real voice.”
