SACRAMENTO, CA – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) firmly responded to today’s State of the State address by Governor Gavin Newsom, calling out the Governor’s inflated rhetoric and failure to address the challenges Californians face.
AFP Western Region Director Heather Andrews released the following statement:
“Californians today did not hear a plan from Governor Newsom on a path forward to fix what is broken. Instead, the Governor’s State of the State focused on lofty rhetoric and future aspirations, failing to address the real challenges Californians face day to day.
“We are seeing a mass exodus of residents and businesses fleeing the state, and a housing crisis driven by overregulation. The Governor did not offer solutions to the root causes of California’s affordability crisis—out-of-control government spending, overregulation, and policies that drive opportunities out of the state—making it harder to live, work, and build a future here. We do not need more government control. We need real reforms that empower workers, businesses, and families to grow and thrive in California.
“Governor Newsom should focus on commonsense solutions that will build a better tomorrow for Californians instead of focusing on his future ambitions.”
