AFP-NC Calls on Democrat Representatives to End Government Shutdown, Support Clean Funding Bill

RALEIGH, NC – Today, Americans for Prosperity–North Carolina (AFP-NC) is calling on North Carolina’s Democrat members of Congress to support a clean continuing resolution, reopen the federal government, and put an end to Washington’s partisan games. Recent polling from AFP found that 61% of Americans view shutdowns as harmful and that a majority of Americans support legislation that would keep Congress in session until a budget is passed.

AFP-NC State Director Tyler Voigt released the following statement:

“Hardworking North Carolinians are paying the price for Democrats’ partisan politics. By refusing to support a clean continuing resolution, Democrats like Don Davis are putting their interests above those of their constituents. This is unacceptable. It’s time to reopen the government and put the interests of North Carolinians first.”

AFP-NC will continue to hold elected leaders accountable until Washington delivers the commonsense solutions that hardworking North Carolinians deserve.
