COLUMBIA, SC — Two more likely candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028 will travel to the Palmetto State this week, bringing along their liberal policies and political pipedreams. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and California Representative Ro Khanna will each tour the state, fueling speculation of their hopes for higher office.
Just last week, California Governor and fellow 2028 presidential hopeful Gavin Newsom toured South Carolina, touting his far-left policies and progressive agenda.
While South Carolina plays an important role in the race for the presidential nomination, the state has soundly rejected these far-left policies by double digits in the past three presidential elections.
AFP-South Carolina State Director Matt Humm issued the following statement:
“While South Carolinians are sure to see more political visits from presidential hopefuls like Beshear, Khanna, and Newsom, the policies they’ve pushed in their home states should be front and center.
“South Carolinians don’t want the green energy scams, anti-economic growth, and progressive policies these lawmakers push back home. Every day, AFP-South Carolina hears from voters concerned about their kitchen table issues: the economy and how they can keep more of their hard-earned money. Let’s promote pro-growth policies that build up American innovation and bolster our economy, not empty promises from self-promotional politicians seeking a podium.”
