Every great chapter in American history has started with one small step. A step taken by someone who saw a problem and chose to act. It’s individuals rising to the challenge, organizing their communities, and working toward something better. That’s how change begins. That’s how it’s always begun, just like Samuel Adams did in the 1760s.
In the 1760s, Samuel Adams took one of those first steps. As colonists grew tired of taxation without representation, Adams helped form the Sons of Liberty. This resistance group didn’t have powerful titles or deep pockets, but they had an idea. Through pamphlets, protests, and public pressure, the Sons of Liberty rallied their neighbors and pushed back against the Stamp Act. Their efforts helped spark the movement that would ultimately lead to American independence.
Adams and the Sons of Liberty knew what we know today: freedom isn’t guaranteed. It’s always one generation away from extinction. It has to be defended. And that starts in local communities, where people come together to demand better from those in power. They didn’t wait for permission. They mobilized their neighbors and took action, one small step at a time.
That is why Americans for Prosperity is on a mission to fight for freedom and reignite the American Dream. We partner with people like you to elevate your voice and make a difference in your community and across the country. We bring people together around the issues that matter most and educate, train, and mobilize concerned citizens to take action on real solutions that improve people’s lives.
Samuel Adams didn’t start a revolution overnight. He took a step and brought others with him. That’s the power of grassroots action.
So the question today is: What will your step be? Join us at afpvolunteer.com, and let’s take it together.
