TOPEKA, KS – Americans for Prosperity-Kansas (AFP-KS) leadership traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.
State Director Elizabeth Patton traveled to Washington and conducted four meetings to urge Kansas lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Kansas family $2,228 in federal taxes per year and preserves 6,761 jobs throughout the state. Patton also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate billions in wasteful spending.
AFP-KS met with the following members of Congress (pictured left to right): Reps. Ron Estes, Tracey Mann and Derek Schmidt.
AFP-KS State Director Elizabeth Patton released the following statement:
“Each year, we travel to Washington, DC, to discuss the most pressing issues facing Kansas communities. This week, I met with lawmakers and urged them to pass President Trump’s reconciliation package and make TCJA tax cuts permanent to save Kansans more of their hard-earned money on their federal taxes.
“We must ensure Americans aren’t hit with the largest tax increase in history – we look forward to working alongside policymakers to see TCJA renewed.”
