AFP Commends Senate for Passing Budget Resolution
Congress Must Now Renew the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts
ARLINGTON, VA— Americans for Prosperity (AFP) commends the Senate for passing a budget resolution for fiscal year 2025 and calls for the House of Representatives to pass their budget resolution so Congress can get to work on a reconciliation bill renewing the 2017 Trump tax cuts which will expire if no action is taken this year.
“AFP applauds Senator Thune and his Senate colleagues for passing a budget resolution. This vote allows Congress to get to work on delivering pro-growth economic policies that are desperately needed after four years of Bidenomics’ inflationary spending and choking regulations that drove the cost of living to 40-year highs for American working families,” said AFP chief government affairs officer Brent Gardner. “Congress must act to stop a massive tax tidal wave from crashing American household budgets and our nation’s economy by renewing the 2017 Trump tax cuts. AFP was proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump and leaders in Congress to support the landmark TCJA in 2017 and we are ready to fight again for the most pro-growth tax reform in American history.”
In January, AFP launched the largest effort by any conservative group to support President Trump’s pro-growth policies with the $20 million Protect Prosperity campaign.

The Protect Prosperity campaign is also mobilizing AFP’s grassroots army across all 50 states to reach millions of voters on the phone and at their doorsteps. The campaign is elevating the voices of Members of Congress who support pro-growth tax cuts while holding accountable Members who oppose this agenda, with the goal of extending and building on tax relief for American families and businesses.
The campaign features a robust 50-state media engagement strategy and lobbying effort. AFP will conduct over 1,000 meetings with Congressional offices on Capitol Hill and elevate Members’ voices with in-district events with our activists, organize roundtables with job creators, and share testimonials from real American families and businesses who would suffer if Congress fails to renew the Trump tax cuts.
