Columbus, OH – Americans for Prosperity –OH (AFP-OH) applauds the Ohio House for passing House Bill 15, which will improve energy reliability and affordability across Ohio by removing anti-competitive regulations in the energy sector. This passage comes after S.B. 2 recently passed the Senate floor. Once the House and Senate work through reconciliation of these bills, this energy legislation will go to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.
This passage marks a massive win for AFP-OH, who has long supported a free-market approach to energy production in Ohio so that providers can compete to supply the most affordable and reliable service to Ohioans.
AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neil released the following statement:
“AFP-OH is grateful to Sen. Reinke and Rep. Klopfenstein for making energy a top priority in this year’s session so that Ohio can continue evolving into a Midwest energy powerhouse.
“With legislative wins in both the House and the Senate, we are about to make Ohio’s free-market energy system a reality. This is a major win for the Buckeye State to lower costs for all energy users.
“We’d like to give a special thanks to the 136th General Assembly for referencing our Good Energy Policy for Ohio report , which detail policies rooted in reliability, affordability, abundance, and transparency. Now more than ever, it’s true that this marks the beginning of the end for cronyist energy policymaking and starts the dawn of a consumer-centered energy future for all Ohioans.”
