Kelly Merkel

Hailing from the great state of Wisconsin, Kelly Merkel is the Director of Federal Government Affairs for - Americas for Prosperity (AFP), LIBRE Initiative and Concerned Veterans for America (CVA). As such, Kelly manages the prioritization, implementation and execution of federal lobbying efforts and legislative outcomes for the aforementioned brands.

Joining AFP in 2017, Kelly initially lobbied for CVA and successfully whipped a number of bills to include but not limited to: The VA Mission Act, The AIR Commission and The VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act. Concurrently, she was also lobbying for AFP in its’ fight for Right to Try, The First Step Act, Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the like.

Kelly's professional experience includes Department of Defense Office for Acquisition Technology and Logistics, Office of the Commandant of the Marine Corps, USMC Expeditionary Energy Office, Northrop Grumman, 934th Aero Evacuation Squadron and the State of Wisconsin Legislature.

A 2001 undergraduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master's degree in Public Policy & Foreign Affairs from the University of Minnesota, along with a Master of Business Administration & Finance from Jacksonville University.

Kelly and her family and two pups reside in northern Virginia.
