SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Americans for Prosperity-South Dakota (AFP-SD) today commended Governor Kristi Noem for signing HB 1077, a bill that will recognize licensed health care providers across state lines, improving access to critical health care services.

The grassroots group will continue to advocate for legislation that would provide immediate health care relief to South Dakota families such as SB 96, expanding the availability of telehealth, HB 1131, creating a Direct Primary Care option for health care, and HB 1263, enhancing price transparency of health care costs.

AFP-SD State Director Don Haggar issued the following statement:

“To ensure South Dakotans have access to health care services now and in the future, it is crucial to remove unnecessary restrictions standing in the way of what our communities need. We thank the governor for prioritizing South Dakotans health and signing HB 1077 into law.

“This is an important step toward improving access to quality and affordable health care. Our lawmakers should continue to improve South Dakota health care by passing SB 96, HB 1131, and HB 1263. We look forward to continuing to work with policymakers to remove barriers and facilitate immediate, meaningful improvements to our state’s health care system.”
