AFP Urges Swift Passage of Legislation to Unleash America’s Energy Abundance

ARLINGTON, VA—Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) announced support for a series of important bills under Congressional markup that would remove barriers standing in the way of an abundant, reliable supply of American energy.

The pieces of legislation under markup today in the House Energy and Commerce and Natural Resources Committees would make vital reforms to unleash our country’s vast energy resources. The series of bills includes reforms to help lower prices for Americans, lift regulatory barriers that weaken our energy supply chains, and prevent any president from having unilateral authority to cancel affordable energy projects like the Keystone XL Pipeline.

Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule commented:

“The Biden Administration’s policies have put affordable energy out of reach. From shutting down the Keystone Pipeline to banning energy leases on federal land, President Biden has placed undue burdens on American energy that are making life more expensive for everyone. An overwhelming number of Americans want an all-of-the-above energy policy. We are calling on Congress to listen and swiftly enact these bold solutions that unleash America’s energy abundance.”
