Restaurant Reopening Plan Right Approach for Helping Kansas City Get Back to Work

May 11, 2020 by AFP

KANSAS CITY, MO – Americans for Prosperity-Missouri (AFP-MO) today commended Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas for eliminating arbitrary capacity restrictions and allowing restaurants to adapt to the public health guidelines. Now, restaurants will not have occupancy limits due to the city’s 10/10/10 rule.

AFP-MO State Director Jeremy Cady issued the following statement:

“For too long, we’ve been given the false choice that either everything must be shut down or we should open everything up immediately. We commend Mayor Lucas for taking a step that rejects this false choice and allows restaurants to safely reopen inhouse dining.

“Missourians want to get back to work. We urge lawmakers to trust all Missouri businesses to adjust and innovate their businesses to safely serve their communities.”
