Reserves Are For Emergencies, Not Falling Poll Numbers
Arlington, VA – Americans for Prosperity’s Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule made the following statement after The Associated Press reported today that the Biden Administration will release 1 million barrels of gasoline from a Northeast reserve in a bid to lower prices at the pump this summer:
“The Biden Administration is once again tapping America’s energy reserves for political purposes. Instead of continuing to put our economy and national security at risk, AFP urges the administration to embrace an all-of-the-above energy abundance approach that embraces our country’s vast resources – both traditional oil and gas, as well as renewable and alternative. Our energy reserves are for national emergencies, not falling poll numbers. Every Democrat lawmaker should be asked if they approve of this reckless and irresponsible abuse of a reserve that’s intended for natural disasters and acts of war.”
