Political Failure Isn’t A National Emergency

Jul 21, 2022 by AFP

Arlington, VA – In response to reports that President Biden is considering declaring a “climate emergency” to bypass Congress and push through his agenda unilaterally, AFP Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule issued the following statement:

“It’s not a national emergency every time Congress rejects President Biden’s agenda. But what is a crisis for millions of Americans is not being able to afford food, afford gas, afford a home, find baby formula, and every day see themselves paying more and getting less.

“It is evident to nearly everyone that this administration is taking the country in the wrong direction, yet the President continues to avoid solutions to the issues the American people are most concerned about, instead choosing to push a partisan agenda that will make all those problems even worse.

“President Biden should work with Congress, not go around them. Instead, this administration seems to be lurching farther and farther to the left, more and more isolated, and completely uninterested in changing course.”
