On Anniversary of Inflation Reduction Act, AFP-OH Calls Out Senator Brown to Own Failures

Columbus, OH — On today’s two-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Ohio families are not experiencing a reduction in their cost of living, rather, inflation has skyrocketed. Americans for Prosperity-Ohio (AFP-OH) is calling out Sherrod Brown for his support of the IRA and other disastrous legislation proposed by the Biden-Harris administration.

Senator Brown voted for major inflationary spending and regulatory policy of the Biden-Harris administration. He fully owns the pain Ohioans are experiencing in the form of more expensive gas, groceries, and an overall higher cost of living, and he needs to be held accountable. Brown claimed the Inflation Reduction Act is a “historic step to fight inflation.” Does Brown still stand by his vote?

AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neil issued the following statement on the anniversary of the IRA:

“As we hit the two-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, Ohioans are tired of Washington doubling down on failed policy and then handing them the bill. But that’s what Sherrod Brown has done during his time in office—and for decades. When you look at his record, Brown can’t be trusted to vote the right way when it comes to reducing inflationary spending.

“The fact is, the so-called Inflation Reduction Act didn’t decrease inflation, rather, the opposite is true. The Buckeye state deserves to know if Brown still stands by this bad policy or regrets the economic harm it’s caused for Ohioans over the past two years.”
