ARLINGTON, VA— This week, Americans for Prosperity met with Members of Congress in Washington to present our policy champions with “Pioneers for Prosperity” awards and to discuss major tax policies, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, that are set to expire at the end of 2025 and what AFP’s new polling found on these key issues
What Members are Saying:
Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL): “I’m proud to be recognized by Americans for Prosperity, a great organization that advocates for the success of our nation’s families and businesses. For too long, families have seen their tax dollars wasted as they struggle to make ends meet under the Biden-Harris administration’s big government, big spending and inflation-fueling policies. I’m fighting every day to keep the American dream alive by bringing fiscal sanity and common sense back to Washington so it truly works for the American people.”
Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN): “Americans for Prosperity is fighting for the issues Hoosiers truly care about. I’m honored to receive this award and to work with Americans for Prosperity to stand up for our shared values, make Hoosiers’ lives better, and put freedom and prosperity back at the center of American politics.”
Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT): “Americans for Prosperity is a champion for the conservative movement and has been leading the fight against the Biden-Harris administration’s dangerous economic policies. I am honored to receive the Pioneers for Prosperity Award and I look forward to working with AFP in the future to fight for the values that make our country great.”
Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE): “I’m grateful to AFP-NE for the Pioneers for Prosperity award. Together, we’ve fought against the Biden-Harris administration’s reckless spending and burdensome mandates. I’ll keep working to protect our freedoms and strengthen Nebraska’s economy.”
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC): “My mission in public service has always been to positively affect the lives of a billion people with a message of hope and opportunity. Being recognized as a Pioneer for Prosperity is a great honor, but only motivates me more to champion and implement policies to help all Americans have the opportunity to succeed and pursue their American Dream.”
Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) “I am honored to receive the Pioneers for Prosperity award from Americans for Prosperity – Wyoming. The people of Wyoming work hard for every dollar they earn, and it is shameful for the government to spend their tax dollars on wasteful spending. In the Senate I am working each day to represent the people of Wyoming’s values and fighting for fiscal sanity.”
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL): “I’m grateful for AFP and all the work they do to stand up for the shared principles that make our nation great—limited government, free speech, fiscal responsibility, and the American Dream. I’m so proud to be a recipient of the Pioneers for Prosperity Award and look forward to continuing my work with AFP to advocate for policy solutions based on real principles that make a difference in the lives of my constituents.”
Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA): “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provided crucial stimulus for economic growth and job creation in our country. I am proud to work with Americans for Prosperity to advocate for the extension of those beneficial provisions of the TCJA, which helps boost investment in American businesses and simplifies the tax process for many Americans.”
Rep. Tracey Mann (R-KS): “I am proud to fight for a country that Kansans can be proud of. During my yearly 60-County Mann Listening Tour, I consistently heard from Kansans about the need for Congress to pass real, common-sense legislation that provides solutions to America’s problems. While the Biden-Harris Administration ignores America’s needs, I am following my marching orders from Kansans to reduce and reprioritize federal spending, secure the southern border, and end the weaponization of the federal government. I am grateful for Americans for Prosperity’s partnership in finding solutions that drive America forward and ensure our brightest days are yet to come. Thank you, Americans for Prosperity, for awarding me with the Pioneers for Prosperity award.”
Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY): “I was honored to be presented with the Pioneer for Prosperity award from Kentuckians with Americans for Prosperity which is given to individuals who champion individual freedom and economy opportunity. I’m proud to represent our Kentucky communities’ spirit of freedom and opportunity in Congress.”
Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC): “I am honored to have received Americans for Prosperity’s Pioneers for Prosperity award for the 118th Congress. It’s a fact that the federal government is hemorrhaging money in a dangerous way. We are looking at $2 trillion deficits this year alone, added to more than $35 trillion of existing debt. Congress ought to take the tough votes to stop this spending trajectory–and soon. I am proud of the work that AFP does to pursue responsible fiscal practices.”
Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN): “I’m honored to have received American for Prosperity’s 2024 Pioneers for Prosperity Award. This award is given to legislators who go the extra mile to champion good, principled policy and coalition building. It was a special treat to be presented by AFP-TN.”
Rep. Blake Moore (R-UT): “I am honored to be recognized as a 2024 Pioneer for Prosperity, and I thank AFP for this award. I’m grateful to AFP for their partnership in our efforts to reform Washington’s broken budgeting process and look forward to continuing to make our government work better for the American people.”
