ARLINGTON, VA — With many Americans hopeful that Democrats would finally end their obstruction and reopen the government, headlines today provide another reminder that this shutdown is all about political leverage. Despite growing public frustration and major disruptions heading into the holiday season, Democrats are refusing to reopen the government because they think they are winning. And as long as Democrats think they are benefitting politically, it doesn’t matter how many Americans suffer.
