AFP Mobilizes Grassroots Army with $20M Campaign to Renew Trump Tax Cuts

ARLINGTON, VA— Americans for Prosperity’s Akash Chougule wrote this week via Real Clear Policy that Congress needs to renew the Trump tax cuts, and it’s “going to take a concerted effort from those inside and outside the halls of Congress” to get them over the finish line.

Chougule via Real Clear Policy:

“Major portions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expire in 2025, triggering a massive tax increase on families and small businesses. If allowed to happen, the average American household can expect a $1500 tax bill increase.

“On average, family tax bills will increase by $3,505 in Florida$2,265 in North Carolina, and a wild $4,254 in Wyoming. And that’s not to mention the job loss numbers that will follow tax increases.

“Don’t look at those numbers as just as averages and dollars. Look at them as having to take second jobs just to get by, stretching the already-thin grocery budget, putting off vacation plans, or worrying about how the mortgage will get paid.”

Chougule says that “the margin for error is razor thin”, and that’s why Americans for Prosperity is spearheading a $20 million campaign to make Americans aware of the coming tax hikes and to drive action in Congress.

AFP’s Protect Prosperity campaign to renew the TCJA is the largest commitment by a conservative organization to date to support President Trump’s second-term agenda. AFP and AFP Action have reached a record of nearly 30 million voters over the last two years, and this year, AFP will again activate its grassroots army of millions to ensure pro-growth tax reform is Congress’ top priority.
