ATLANTA, GA – Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity – Georgia (AFP-GA) hosted a bake “scale” event at the Georgia State Capitol to highlight support for HB 583, legislation that would “scale” back burdensome regulations by allowing cottage food operators (individuals who produce homemade food items at a residential property) to sell their items in commercial establishments. During the event, AFP-GA partnered with local bakers to distribute baked goods to staff and visitors in the State Capitol while urging support for HB 583.
AFP-GA State Director Tony West released the following statement:
“We thank the bakers and local community members who spent part of their day with us at the State Capitol advocating for HB 583. This bill would allow entrepreneurs to grow their local small businesses by removing burdensome regulations.
“We will continue supporting cottage food operators through our efforts to pass HB 583. We urge lawmakers to pass this bill to empower more Georgians to reignite their American dream and create economic opportunities.”
