Nashville, TN – Americans for Prosperity grassroots leaders from across the country traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.
State Director Tori Venable traveled to Washington and conducted meetings to urge Tennessee lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Tennessee family $2,520 in federal taxes per year and preserves 16,410 jobs throughout the state. Deputy State Director Michael Lotfi also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate billions in wasteful spending.
AFP-TN State Director Tori Venable released the following statement:
“Every year, Americans for Prosperity heads from Tennessee to Washington, D.C., elevating the issues that matter most to our communities. This week, I met with our delegation to urge support for President Trump’s reconciliation package and the renewal of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
“We cannot allow Americans to be hit with the largest tax hike in history. Renewing the TCJA is essential, and we’re committed to working with policymakers to get it across the finish line.”
