FERGUS FALLS, MN – In case you missed it, Americans for Prosperity-Minnesota (AFP-MN) hosted state Senator Jordan Rasmusson for a town hall with constituents on Monday night in Fergus Falls to discuss the results of this year’s legislative session and what he hopes to see in next year’s session, including potentially transformative housing abundance legislation.
Rasmusson, a cosponsor of the Minnesota Starter Homes Act, told moderator and AFP-MN Deputy State Director Joshua Solano that while this year’s session was marked by political gridlock and scandal, he thinks next year’s session could see the passage of this critical package of reforms aimed at tackling Minnesota’s housing crisis.
Sen. Rasmusson gave the following statement:
“Thank you to AFP for hosting the legislative forum in Fergus Falls. I appreciated the opportunity to connect with community members and hear directly about the issues that matter most to them. Housing affordability is one of the top concerns I hear about, especially in Greater Minnesota. I am focused on making it easier for Minnesotans to find and afford housing.
“Another issue I often hear about is the need to protect taxpayer dollars. With fraud in our state estimated to exceed $1 billion, we face a serious accountability problem. We must take stronger action to stop waste, fraud, and abuse.”
AFP-MN Deputy State Director Joshua Solano gave the following statement:
“We’re grateful for Sen. Rasmusson’s leadership in the Senate this year, especially for his dedication to removing the obstacles that make it difficult for hardworking Minnesotans to own a home and achieve their American Dream. AFP-MN will continue working alongside him to build bipartisan support under the dome and across the state to reintroduce competition and efficiency into Minnesota’s housing market.”
