Lansing, Michigan – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) grassroots activists from across the country traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.
State Director Tim Golding traveled to Washington and conducted four meetings to urge Michigan lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Michigan family $2,054 in federal taxes per year and preserves 22,244 jobs throughout the state. Tim Golding also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate wasteful spending.
AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding released the following statement:
“This week, I met with lawmakers and urged them to pass President Trump’s reconciliation package and renew tax cuts that will save Michiganders more of their hard-earned money on their Federal taxes.
“We must ensure Americans aren’t hit with the largest tax increase in history – we look forward to working alongside policymakers to make the TCJA permanent.”
Representative Tom Barrett (MI-07) also added, “Thank you to AFP-Michigan for your hard work in helping keep our economy on the right track and pushing to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. With the Big Beautiful Bill, everyday Americans will keep more of what they earn and we can build our economy back stronger than ever.”
