Owosso, MI – Last Friday, Americans for Prosperity–Michigan (AFP-MI) hosted a “Pints & Policy” event with special guest Congressman Tom Barrett (MI-07) to discuss key issues in Washington D.C. and salute veterans ahead of Veterans Day.

During the discussion, Congressman Barrett highlighted the positive impact of the Working Families Tax Cuts, noting how these reforms have helped Michiganders better manage cost-of-living pressures, spurred local investment and job creation, and strengthened economic opportunity across the state.

Congressman Barrett also took time to express gratitude to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces as the nation prepares to celebrate Veterans Day during the 250th anniversary of the United States.

AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding released the following statement:

“Despite efforts from Democrats to hobble this government with the longest shutdown in American history, leaders like Congressman Barrett continue to make time to connect with their constituents and honor the brave men and women who keep our country safe.

“This event served not only as a celebration of the progress our country has made for working families, but as a reminder that when our policymakers prioritize freedom, opportunity, and fiscal responsibility, communities thrive.”
