JUNEAU, AK—Americans for Prosperity grassroots activists from across the country traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of the organization’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.
Deputy State Director Quincy Azimi-Tabrizi traveled to Washington and conducted meetings to urge Alaska lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Alaska family $2,305 in federal taxes per year and preserves 1,739 jobs throughout the state. Azimi-Tabrizi also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate billions in wasteful spending.
AFP-Alaska Deputy State Director Quincy Azimi-Tabrizi released the following statement:
“Each year, activists from AFP-AK travel to Washington, DC, to discuss the most pressing issues facing our communities. This week, I met with lawmakers and urged them to pass President Trump’s reconciliation package and renew the TCJA tax cuts that will save Alaskans more of their hard-earned money on their federal taxes.
“The One Big Beautiful Bill is one of the most consequential pieces of legislation for Alaska. It unleashes the development of our vast natural resources, including oil, gas, mining, and timber, while strengthening our energy future. This is a major step toward lasting opportunity and prosperity for Alaskans.”
