Granite State should focus on improving business environment

MANCHESTER, N.H.—Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) on Thursday responded to Amazon’s announcement that New Hampshire would not be on its short list of locations to build its second North American headquarters, highlighting changes that would make the Granite State more attractive to businesses in the future.

New Hampshire never met Amazon’s search criteria so it’s now surprise they are looking in a different direction, but we still need to do more to make the Granite State more attractive to employers,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director. “We should take steps now to continue implementing pro-growth reforms to our tax code and energy policies – areas where we need to become more competitive to expand growth and economic opportunity. Meaningful reforms here would both make New Hampshire more welcoming to employers in the future and ease the financial burden our citizens face. Coupled with our skilled, hardworking workforce, implementing thoughtful reforms now could very well make the Granite State home to every company looking to expand or relocate.”
