PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) released the following statement in response to Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee’s 2026 State of the State address.
AFP Region Director Ross Connolly said:
“Governor Dan McKee’s address touched on many key issues that are affecting our state while outlining the year ahead. Still, Rhode Islanders know that progress is achieved through pro-freedom policies that create real opportunities. Rhode Island’s future depends on rolling back burdensome regulations, empowering parents, and supporting job creators while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars.
“We urge the governor to advance meaningful tax reform and to follow through on repealing the certificate of need laws to make healthcare more affordable for all of Rhode Island. AFP is committed to working together with the governor and state legislators on finding real solutions that will ensure Rhode Islanders can achieve the American Dream.”
