Montpelier, Vermont — Today, in recognition of National School Choice Week, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) released the following statement.
AFP Northeast Region Director Ross Connolly said:
“National School Choice Week is an opportunity to highlight the importance of putting students first and empowering parents to choose the best education option for their child. As the Governor noted in his State of the State Address, strengthening our education system requires bold reforms that expand opportunity and ensure every child has access to a learning environment that meets their needs. Funding must follow students, spending waste must be reduced, and property taxes must be kept in check for families to see real change.
“Americans for Prosperity supports policies that put families at the center of education. AFP applauds the Governor’s leadership in addressing this important issue and looks forward to working with lawmakers to build on the Governor’s vision and advance solutions that expand freedom and opportunity for students across Vermont.”
