Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi Applauds Legislature for Finalized Budget

Jackson, MS—Following sine dine for the special session, Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi (AFP-MS) said they are pleased to see Members of the legislature work alongside the Governor and Lieutenant Governor to get a final budget across the finish line. Previously, AFP-MS called for top issues such as Certificate of Need (CON) reform to be prioritized in the special session, but the grassroots mobilizer will continue to take up CON bills next year.

AFP-MS State Director, Starla Brown, released the following statement:

“The process took longer this year, but we are glad to see Members working to ensure a fiscally restrained budget is in place for taxpayers who will benefit by ensuring their hard-earned dollars are put to good use. Getting this done was an accomplishment of the special session, and we look forward to working with Members next year to prioritize CON reform and open Mississippi’s health care marketplace and expand school choice opportunities for families. Thank you, Governor Reeves, Lieutenant Governor Hosemann, and Speaker White, for funding our state needs and your work to get the state budget to the Governor’s desk.”
