TOPEKA, Kan. – Americans for Prosperity-Kansas (AFP-KS) issued the following statement upon Governor Laura Kelly signing HB 2066 into law. The bill is a licensing recognition bill that will allow new residents in licensed occupations to practice in the state without redundant and burdensome processes. The grassroots group firmly believes this, and continued reforms will break down barriers to employment for Kansans and make it easier for people to get back to work.
AFP-KS State Director Elizabeth Patton issued the following statement:
“We’re encouraged to see this bill signed into law that will remove unnecessary and overburdensome red tape. This will put workers that are new to the state on the path to prosperity from the very beginning. That means they will be able to immediately provide for their families while also bringing valuable skills into the state to stimulate the economy. We applaud the legislature for their efforts here and look forward to collaborating on more reforms like this one that will allow for more Kansans to achieve the American Dream.”
