CHEYENNE, WY – Following Governor Mark Gordon’s state of the state address on Monday, Americans for Prosperity – Wyoming (AFP-WY) applauded his commitment to education freedom in Wyoming and encouraged state lawmakers to make comprehensive education reform a top priority in this year’s legislative session.
This year, AFP-WY will support the legislation sponsored by the Joint Education Interim Committee to create an Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) program so that every student has the freedom to achieve their full potential.
AFP-WY State Director Tyler Lindholm released the following statement:
“I’m encouraged by Gov. Gordon’s steadfast commitment to education freedom in Wyoming, as education freedom faces threats from both sides of the aisle in the state legislature. Our students deserve better, and AFP-WY will continue to work alongside principled leaders willing to put their needs over outdated systems and bureaucracy.
“Our state representatives should drop their old, disproven arguments that ESAs are unconstitutional and get to work creating a brighter future for our children.”
In addition to education, AFP-WY will continue to fight for reforms to lower the cost of living, owning property, and receiving world-class health care across the Cowboy State.
