CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Americans for Prosperity-WV (AFP-WV) released today its second round of endorsements for the May 12th, 2026, primary election.
This round of endorsed candidates builds on AFP-WV’s initial wave, adding to the list both incumbent and non-incumbents who are all committed to cutting needless red tape, defending school choice, making West Virginia the next zero income tax state, and partnering with grassroots leaders across the state.
AFP-WV State Director Jason Huffman released the following statement:
“Make no mistake: the policy trajectory of West Virginia is at stake this May. That’s why we are engaging in an unprecedented number of races to elect principled policy champions who will fight for the common-sense reforms we know will make the Mountain State a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
AFP-WV Deputy State Director Matt Gallagher added:
“This round of endorsements builds on AFP-WV’s stellar candidate class, adding a returning AFP policy champion, a successful mayor, an election expert, a hospital chaplain, and two US Army Veterans all committed to right-sizing government. These candidates are tough leaders ready to put West Virginians ahead of entrenched interests and deliver lasting results.”

LD 17- Johnathan Pinson
Johnathan Pinson is an experienced public servant who has dedicated his life to serving others, first as a police officer and now as a leader in the House of Delegates. As a pastor and foster father, he embodies the commitment, honesty, and integrity necessary to do what is right and to expand freedom in the Mountain State. Pinson has been a strong advocate for educational and entrepreneurial freedom and will continue to lead with conviction on behalf of the people he serves.
LD 42- John Jordan
John Jordan is an upstanding community servant, bringing decades of experience in standing with the people of Raleigh County. He is committed to cutting bureaucratic red-tape, defending educational freedom, and returning much needed money to hardworking taxpayers.
LD 48- Greg Watt
Greg Watt is an experienced veteran with one of the best educations the US Military has to offer. With specializations in advanced technology and organizational leadership, Greg will leverage decades of discipline and a results-driven approach to bare on fixing dysfunctional bureaucratic government agencies to better deliver solutions that actually serve the people.
LD 71 – Laura Kimble
Del. Kimble has been an AFP-WV policy champion since being elected in 2020. As chair of the legal services committee and a vocal member of the house education committee, Del. Kimble has worked tirelessly to expand school choice options and defend West Virginias groundbreaking Hope Scholarship Program. AFP-WV is wholly confident in Laura’s continued ability to fight for the citizens of Harrison County and represent principled leadership.
LD 73 – Rob Gallo
Rob will be a strong, fresh voice in Charleston for the House of Delegates. His experience in county government and the energy sector comes at a time of critical need for West Virginia. Rob understands the value thoughtfully reducing unnecessary red tape standing in the way of West Virginians finding their version of the American Dream and making government live within its means, just like families must.
LD 85 – Bruce Kolsun
AFP proudly endorses Bruce Kolsun for West Virginia House of Delegates District 85. Having served as mayor of Parsons, Bruce brings valuable experience in local leadership and deeply understands the issues facing families in the district. AFP-WV is confident Kolsun will be a strong partner in working toward phasing out the state income tax in a fiscally responsible fashion, putting more money into the pockets of hardworking folks to invest in their aspirations while creating more jobs.
SD 12 – Joe Earley
US. Army veteran Joe Earley has served the citizens of West Virginia abroad, and now he is ready to do so at home in the West Virginia Senate. AFP-WV knows Joe is committed to preserving the freedoms that West Virginians deserve. His experience as an IT professional brings valuable insight when it comes to technology, energy, and fiscal responsibility.
