Montpelier, VT – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today criticized the Vermont Legislature’s failure to deliver meaningful policy outcomes to the issues that matter most to Vermont families and businesses as the 2025 legislative session ends.
AFP Northeast Regional Director Ross Connolly released the following statement:
“Last year Vermonters sent a clear message to State House leaders: Vermont is unaffordable and they want real solutions, not mandates and tax hikes. Governor Phil Scott and Republicans in the Legislature put forth many thoughtful solutions to Vermont’s most pressing problems. The Progressive majority failed to prioritize these real solutions to the high energy costs, exorbitant cost of living, and economic struggles Vermonters still face today. They have ignored the will of the people.
“AFP commends Governor Scott for his steady commitment to improving the lives of Vermonters, despite legislative inaction. We remain committed to working alongside him to advance policies that expand opportunity and promote prosperity across the Green Mountain State.”
