Richmond, VA – Americans for Prosperity – Virginia (AFP-VA) welcomed Tim Parrish as its new state director on Monday. As a small business owner, veteran, and Northern Virginia-based political activist, Parrish will draw on his wealth of political and leadership experience and his deep commitment to individual liberty to help AFP-VA share its vision for freedom and prosperity in every corner of Virginia.

“Throughout my career, from serving in the U.S. Marine Corps to my work in Virginia political grassroots, I have fought for the freedom and wellbeing of Americans. I’m thrilled to bring my experience to Virginia’s premier grassroots organization,” said Tim Parrish, AFP-VA State Director. “Together, we are going to turn Virginia into the most prosperous state in these United States.”

Prior to joining AFP-VA, Parrish served as a Founding Partner of the Statesmen Strategy Group, where he led the policy advocacy, business development and political strategy portfolios for the enterprising company. In that capacity, he represented the Virginia Faith & Freedom Coalition, a 501c4 non-profit organization dedicated to educating and engaging Virginians at the intersection of faith and the political process, advised several local, state, and federal political campaigns, and served as a business development partner for emerging small businesses across the country.

Parrish served in the United States Marine Corps, completing multiple domestic assignments, and overseas deployments, including to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. After receiving an honorable discharge, he entered the public safety industry, serving as a local law enforcement officer and security policy consultant.

“Tim Parrish has been dedicated to the cause of freedom for decades and we look forward to adding his leadership and skills to our efforts,” said AFP Regional Vice President David From. “I am certain that Tim will help propel our work to remove government’s barriers to better the lives of all Virginians.”

Parrish has authored several editorial pieces and publications, and has been featured in local and national media, providing conservative perspective commentary on a broad range of political issues. He earned his undergraduate degree from Ashford University in San Diego, CA.
