SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Americans for Prosperity-Utah (AFP-UT) celebrated the start of National School Choice Week today by highlighting the successes of the Utah Fits All Scholarship, the state’s promising new school choice program created in 2023.
AFP-UT was a major supporter of the school choice program, which has empowered more than 14,000 Utah families to send their children to schools that meet their unique educational needs. Thanks to this program, Utah is now ranked 7th in the nation on the 2026 American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Index of State Education Freedom.
Kevin Greene, AFP-UT state director, gave the following statement:
“We know that school choice is a success in Utah. With demand outpacing the supply for eligibility to participate in the Utah Fits All Scholarship, it’s critical that we work to protect this vital program and expand it to serve all students across the state.
“AFP-UT will continue to work toward removing barriers that hold our students back from meeting their full potential classroom.”
